Frequently asked questions
Can I overdose my dog on Tick Off or Petmix?
If you are worried about a heavy infestation of fleas or ticks we recommend placing a few drops onto their paw pads. You can also apply some to a bandana, as a collar might stain. The amount of dosage on the bottle is the minimum amount that is still effective if used year round. You can easily triple the amounts for short term and still be safe.
Is it safe for my children to play with the dog after application of Tick Off or Petmix?
As long as they do not have any sensitivities to the listed oils on the web site. All oils used in this formula are generally recognised as safe by the food and drug administration.
Can I use it on a cat?
No. Cats are too sensitive for use of this product, however we recommend Flea Off for Cats.
Can my cats be around my dog after Tick Off is applied to the dog?
Yes, as long as the cats do not come into direct contact with the product they will be fine.
There are still a few ticks on my pet. Is the product working?
Yes. There are times that you will find ticks crawling on the dog, but they are not usually attached.
What do I do if I find a tick attached to my pet?
Apply a few drops around the tick and wait 5 or 10 minutes. They will either back out or be easier to remove.
